I painted my engine bay, and while I wrapped off most of the car, my hood was open and I didn't protect the top side, which, while not in the line of fire for paint, still got some dusty over-spray settled on it. I took a clay bar and worked at it and it helps remove the over spray, but it takes a LOT of effort and a few square inches took a good minute of work. I have a dual action Porter Cable orbiter. I also have some Meguiars cutting compound. Is it safe to use the DA with a foam pad to try and remove it, or will I be doing even more damage? Any advice?
